About CaroMX | Astaxanthin Nano Emulsion Liquid with 2% Strength
Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant carotenoid (a ketocarotenoid), often derived from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis.A nanoemulsion with 2% strength means the formulation contains 2% by weight (or sometimes by volume, but usually by weight) of astaxanthin. The nanoemulsion format means very small droplets (typically <100 nm) of an oil phase containing astaxanthin, dispersed in an aqueous (water) phase with suitable emulsifiers / surfactants. This format improves solubility/dispersibility, stability, and bioavailability vs. crude oilbased astaxanthin.
Key Features:-
High Bioavailability & Improved AbsorptionBecause of the nanodroplet size (often <100200nm), the surface area is greatly increased. This allows more efficient release and absorption in the gastrointestinal tract or skin barrier, depending on use.
Studies have shown that nanoemulsions of astaxanthin produce significantly higher C (maximum concentration in plasma) and Area Under Curve (AUC) vs nonemulsified forms.
Water Dispersibility / SolubilityAlthough astaxanthin is naturally oilsoluble, in a nanoemulsion its dispersed into very fine oil droplets within water, making the overall formulation watersoluble or waterdispersible. This enables easier incorporation in aqueous systems (drinks, serums, etc.).
Stability under Processing & Storage ConditionsGood thermal stability: can tolerate high temperature treatments (e.g. steam or pasteurization) with limited degradation (often <~15% loss under certain conditions).
Physical stability: minimal change in droplet size over time; low instances of coalescence, sedimentation, flocculation.
Protection from oxidation, light, and pH effects thanks to the encapsulation/emulsion format.
Consistent Quality & SpecificationKnown concentration: 1% astaxanthin by weight/volume ensures predictable dosing/performance.Controlled particle size distribution & small polydispersity index (PDI), meaning uniform droplet sizes helps predict behavior (stability, absorption).
Ideally, measurable parameters such as zeta potential for stability, emulsifier type, and shelflife are specified.
Enhanced Organoleptic and Functional PropertiesBecause the dispersion is in nano form, there may be less turbidity, less grittiness, better texture or mouthfeel (for food/beverage), or smoother feel (for topical applications).
Flavor or odor masking is easier with encapsulated forms (oilsmelling astaxanthin is less oily in effect).
